The mission of the Carpinteria Lion's Community Building Association, a non-profit 501(c)(3), is to build, maintain and operate a community building/auditorium and park for the community’s use, known as Lions Park.
Carpinteria Lions Park is located in the beautiful Carpinteria Valley, 80 miles up the coast from Los Angeles and 12 miles south of Santa Barbara. Visitors come to this peaceful seaside city to soak up sunshine at the beach, or to simply enjoy the small town pleasures where tree-shaded streets, parades and craft shows evoke a gentle way of life.
The Lions Club of Carpinteria many years ago purchased the property for use as a public park and community meeting area. Carpinteria Lion’s Community Building Association raised the funds for and built the community building/auditorium on the property, and now maintains and manages the park and improvements. The two organizations, both nonprofit public benefit corporations, work hand in hand to provide the beautiful community building and outdoor recreational area for the use of residents and visitors of Carpinteria Valley. Volunteers from both organizations give, without compensation, of their time, talent, energy and devotion to the park and the community building for the benefit of the public.
Nestled on two acres at the base of the Carpinteria foothills, Lions Park has become the most appreciated and utilized recreational area in the community, second only to the state beach park.
